MULTOS step/one

MULTOS step/one is a low cost version of MULTOS intended for implementing applications that do not require a cryptographic co-processor. Most typically it is used for implementing EMV with Static Data Authentication (SDA) where RSA processing on the chip is not required.

The step/one security architecture is similar to that of full MULTOS but uses symmetric 3DES encryption in place of RSA encryption to secure the enablement and application loading / deletion process. The step/one APDUs are identical to MULTOS and a system capable of loading applications to a MULTOS product is capable of loading applications to a step/one product with little or no modification.
